Hey, Electric Banana! Kelcy here from Ever More Nest. In no particular order, here are some Americana albums I'm digging right now and would love to have on vinyl.
Bonny Light Horseman - Keep Me On Your Mind/See You Free (2024)
This is the 3rd studio album from my favorite currently touring band. Anais, Eric, and Josh make beautiful music together, and I hope they do so forever and ever, amen.
2. Margo Cilker - Valley of Heart's Delight (2023)
Some songs are rollicking—I particularly love the take on touring on "I Remember Carolina"—and some are heartfelt like the beautiful "Beggar for Your Love."
3. Caroline Spence - Spades and Roses (2017)
This album is gorgeous from start to finish and is the sole reason I called up producer Neilson Hubbard for the Ever More Nest albums. Each of Caroline's songs on this album make you wish you could write like that. I revisit this album all the time.
4. Bonny Light Horseman - Bonny Light Horseman (2020)
Oh shoot, are they on here twice? That's because I listen to Bonny Light Horseman endlessly, and this first album is pure gold.

5. Bonnie Prince Billy - Keeping Secrets Will Destroy You (2023)
While we're talking Bonnies, here's one from Bonnie Prince Billy / Will Oldham that I'm still enjoying. So many trees—I love trees.
6. Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit - Weathervanes (2023)
Can't deny the guit-harmonies on this album are exceptional. Love "Middle of the Morning" and "Save the World."

7. Clay Parker & Jodi James - Your Very Own Dream (2024)
Fellow Louisianians, Clay & Jodi write amazing songs just down the Mississippi River from me, and I hope the waters wash more songs down my way soon. The single "Nothing at All" melts me.

8. Hermanos Gutiérrez - Sonido Cósmico (2024)
Sometimes you need instrumental music in your life, and this is a vibe I can work to, relax to, socialize to, etc. Looking forward to catching these guys live soon.
9. Willy Tea Taylor - The Great Western Hangover (2023)
Willy Tea and I share a mutual friend that told me about this album, and I love that Willy's songwriting highlights his a versatility that you don't always here on Americana albums. Fun record for summer.

10. Hurray for the Riff Raff - Life on Earth (2022)
This is my favorite (thus far) from fellow New Orleanian Alynda Lee Segarra. I think maybe because I like trees and plants so much. And there's a great line about being Pisces, which I also happen to be. Seriously though, it's a great listen start to finish.

About Ever More Nest
Hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana, Ever More Nest offers a unique brand of americana/alt-country rooted in southern musical traditions and infused with confessional 90s angst. Ever More Nest’s dynamic, homegrown voice—hugged by lush, church-pew harmonies—is complemented by expansive band arrangements and rhythm that rocks steady as a country train. Whether in a cinematic crescendo of all-consuming sound or in a quiet soliloquy of only voice and guitar, Ever More Nest's Kelcy Wilburn allows audiences to wade deep into the waters of their humanness or stay safely ashore, where the rhythm of waves—the steady rock and roll—bring contentedness and joy. Ever More Nest's music has been called "Lucinda-esque" by Rock & Roll Globe, "Killer" by Outsider, and "Exhilarating" by No Depression. Watch and listen at evermorenest.com.
